Care Supervisor - Specialty Pharmacy
What we are looking for
Optime Care is looking for a Care Supervisor. We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping people get the specialized therapies they need. This critical role serves as the coach, a servant leader, to aid the team in becoming the best they can be. He/She/They will assist with supervising a team of patient advocates to guide patients through the process of obtaining pharmaceuticals not available with chain pharmacies.
This position will be required to be in the office for the first 120 days for training purposes. It can then be a hybrid role with 3 days in-office required depending on business needs after that.
What the position will be doing
- Oversee, assist, and provide ongoing support in the day-to-day activities of the team.
- Assist the Care Director as a liaison and day-to-day contact with assigned clients.
- Oversee, jointly with the Care Director, the team’s performance to KPIs and budget.
- Review payer, operations and activity reports, and other data to measure performance to goals.
- Review daily reports and reimbursement procedures of the care team to ensure optimal operating processes.
- Assist the Care Director in establishing and implementing team goals, objectives, and procedures.
- Assist the Care Director in interviewing, hiring, and training new employees, or overseeing those HR processes.
- Develop and manage ongoing knowledge of team members.
- Identify and develop areas of strength within team members.
- Identify opportunities for improvement within the team and address them through action plans.
- Provide any necessary direction and feedback to team members.
- Manage staff, prepare work schedules, and assign specific duties.
- Other duties as needed or assigned.
Necessary Skills, Education & Abilities
- High school diploma, or equivalent, required.
- 3 or more years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Specialty Pharmacy, Patient Services, Pharmacy Operations, Payer Reimbursement, Direct Personnel Management, Pharmaceutical Industry
- Missouri Pharmacy Technician license or willingness to obtain once employed.
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Knowledge of medical/pharmacy insurance benefit language- ie. EOBs, deductibles, out-of-pocket, co-insurance, co-pays, etc.
- Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing
- Patient Assistance Program knowledge a plus
- Experience with prior authorization and SMN preparation
- Knowledge of insurance claim appeals
- Computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing and competing priorities.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to provide solutions to complex problems.
- Ability to be highly transparent, ethical, and driven. Relentless attention to detail, and the ability to be a creative self-starter and team player.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills required.
