What we are looking for
Optime Care is seeking a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) for our Earth City, MO location. The PIC will be responsible for dispensing, quality control, controlled substances management, pharmaceutical inventory, education and training, research, and drug information. Additionally, the PIC will have overall responsibility for formulating procedures, as well as managing, and directing daily Pharmacy operations.
This position is expected to be on-site at our facility when they are not traveling to other Optime Care or client locations.

Optime Care is seeking a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) for our Earth City, MO location. Additionally, the PIC will have overall responsibility for formulating procedures, as well as managing, and directing daily Pharmacy operations.

What the position will be doing
- Act as PIC and senior clinical staff member for Optime Care.
- Maintain compliance with the Management System; all federal, state, and local laws; and professional standards for staff day-to-day
- Coordinate all pharmacy fulfillment activities, including management of product inventory and dispensing activities.
- Manage the sourcing and acquisition of all pharmacy products and supplies.
- Perform clinical monitoring activities in conjunction with other health care professionals.
- Mentor, train, and keep up to date all pharmacy staff in accordance with the organization’s procedures and applicable laws.
- Participate appropriately in staff and management meetings and patient care conferences.
- Maintain current knowledge of pharmacy practice and latest developments in the field.
- Conduct regular clinical meetings and provide in-services to multi-disciplinary team members.
- Participate in quality improvement activities.
- Fill in as a staff pharmacist when necessary.
- Offer and provide drug counseling in accordance with OBRA standards when necessary.
- Oversee and supervise Wholesale/Distribution activities of the pharmacy, including compliance with any government regulations.
- Provide guidance for clinical operational aspects of Optime Care programs
- Provide oversight of clinical decision-making aspects of Optime Care programs
- Ensure there are qualified clinicians accountable to the organization for decisions affecting patients
- Manage staff, preparing work schedules, and assigning specific duties.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or as necessary; remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by departmental and organization needs.
Necessary Skills, Education & Abilities
- A Bachelor of Pharmacy degree is required, preferably a Doctor of Pharmacy or Master of Pharmacy degree.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the field of pharmacy.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in patient care.
- Minimum of three (3) years of pharmacy or branch of pharmacy operations managerial experience.
- Current unrestricted licensing in the following states/territories: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and Guam.
- Knowledge to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, patients, nurses, and physicians
- Able to thrive and lead in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities, flexible and adaptive to changing processes and procedures.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Some travel will be required.
