What we are looking for
Optime Care is seeking a Principal Product Manager or Product Owner for our Earth City, MO location. This position will be the owner of technology products at Optime Specialty Pharmacy, advocating for our clients, serving as a voice for market needs, and acting as the business owner for technology products such as CareTend and Citus. They will collaborate internally with technology and other leadership, managing relationships with technology vendors and internal team members to launch and deliver technology products and solutions. The Product Manager/Owner collaborates closely with technology, PMO, and other leaders to identify and implement new and existing opportunities for deploying and managing technological products. This role also plays a crucial part in our go-to-market rollout by collaborating with Sales and Marketing to effectively communicate the value proposition of our technology products to prospective clients. They also work with Operations on the implications for operational processes required for successful launches and with IT on any software design and build that is needed. The Product Manager/Owner will manage the product roadmaps at Optime in collaboration with IT and other business leaders.

This position is expected to be on-site at our facility when they are not traveling to other Optime Care, AscellaHealth, or client locations. We estimate that this position will require less than 10% travel.

What the position will be doing
  • Acts as a superuser and a subject matter expert of technology (i.e., CareTend and Citus configuration), and is responsible for the daily management of the system based on requirements from the business, clients, and projects.
  • Collaborates with Operations on how products and services impact operations and helps define and design training, procedural, and automation needs. Adjusts the systems according to operational needs and business drivers.
  • Works closely with Finance, ensuring data and related functions to support billing our manager.
  • Collaborates with IT on design and build requirements, interfaces integration requirements to third-party aggregation systems, and timelines for IT releases.
  • Manages vendor relationships with technology vendors.
  • Defines the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for company products and services.
  • Gathers, manages, and prioritizes market/customer requirements and manages these to deliver through a planning process and tools.
  • Own the product roadmap and execute product strategy with timing and launch plans.
  • Responsible for the product, service, and maintenance budget.
  • Work closely with Sales and Account Management on client needs that influence the product roadmaps.
  • Works closely with Marketing on product and services go-to-market strategy, communications, and key differentiators.
  • Manages all existing product and service aspects, including customer feedback, requirements, and issues.
  • Regularly reviews completed work and checks with customers to ensure it meets the customer's expectations.
  • Stays on top of market trends; understanding of the competition, how customers think of and buy our product, and the reasons customers purchase our products.
  • Recommends or contributes information in setting product pricing, with awareness of competitive pricing.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or necessary; remain flexible and adaptable in work schedules and assignments as defined by departmental and organizational needs.

Necessary Skills, Education & Abilities
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or a related field is required.
  • At least 3 years of product management or product owner experience
  • Experience with CareTend, CPR+, or related Pharmacy Management Systems is required
  • Experience in Healthcare or Pharma preferred.
  • Experience with IT, PMO, Operations, Quality, and Training departments on release and launching software.
  • Proven experience in market research and competitive analysis.
  • Familiarity and experience with requirements gathering, case studies, product comparisons, and competitor analysis.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; some familiarity with AI like CoPilot to drive operational efficiencies in administrative tasks.
